Training Teachers
Setting up schools and education centers are futile if the teachers are not qualified or trained to impart education the right way. The Right to Education Act mandates minimum qualifications set by the National Council of Teacher Education for every government school teacher. However, many teachers remain untrained at both the elementary as well as secondary levels. Unqualified and under-qualified teachers limit the opportunities for their students too.
Understanding this, Raman Kant Munjal Foundation (RKMF) with the support from Hero FinCorp CSR has introduced teacher training programs to enhance the abilities of government school teachers. We train teachers in different teaching methodologies so that they can deliver effective lessons in live classrooms, thus helping children learn better.
How We Do It / Building Teaching Capabilities
The teacher training program is conducted at a training centre which is equipped with all the necessary teaching aids. RKMF’s in-house teachers train teachers in language learning as well as skills pertaining to connecting better with the students. We also partner with external agencies such as British Council to deliver specialised training in particular domains of teaching. We also conducted core skills courses to build their confidence and gave tips on better ways to interact with the students.
